Bonnie Tyler: "They've asked me for a couple of years but I know I'm no actress. I'm comfortable singing in front of thousands of people but put me in a room where I have to act and it's so difficult for me."

She was eventually talked round by producer Bryan Kirkwood, who explained that the role would mainly involve singing.

Bonnie Tyler: "I said, ok, that sounds ok. And my nieces and nephews love Hollyoaks. They said you've got to do it. It's such a great programme."
